Default In Cabin Air Filters

I know that you can take off the shield under the glove box, and remove a round fan and see two filters up in the dash. I assume that these two filters are to filter cabin air. Well mine are pretty dirty due to smoking, but I couldnt figure out how to get to them to change them.

How do I access those filters to change them?

I did this last year ... I will take a look at it tonight when I get home and answer you if no one has by then.

There are two clips that hold the glove box when you open it ... you have to unclip the glove box and it will swing down out of the way ... then you can access everything behind it. I think at that point you can see the first filter ... should be located in upper right corner behind glove box ... it should just slide out towards you. The next filter is to the left of the first ... I think it slides over to the right and then out towards you.

Give this a try ... like I said ... I will take a look at this when I get home from work today and have the car in front of me with the factory repair manual.

It is fairly straightforward once you get the glove box down ... good luck

At least on an EP, those clips to drop the glovebox are pretty easy once you figure them out. Each one is a rubber stopper, and beneath it (or "towards you") on the outside, you'll feel an indentation. Lift the glovebox a couple inches, push in on that indentation, and the clip will pop out and you can rotate it out of its hole.

You'll see the cover for the filters; pop it off and pull each one out. This is what my Honda dealership does before it charges a hundred bucks.

I'd just replace them -- they can be found for around ten bucks each online.

Their purpose is... well, to filter the cabin air. Just like their name says.
