(DIY custom air box) cone filter VS. panel filter
I am going to start my custom air box project this weekend and ran into a snag. While I was measuring the area I realized that its going to be a tight fit in the box with the BPI and the cone filter that comes with it. I thought about just using the BPI flow stack and then installing a panel filter to drop in virticallyon the other end of the air box.
So should I try to keep the cone filter in place of swap in the panel filter?
What would be the best senario?

it depends on the design, engine behind it, desired power range from said engine, type of filter used, and a million other things that I can't think of.
as far as which would be better for you, there's no good way to tell from here.
My personal opinion, I've never been a supporter of panel filters. But I'm far from a fluid dynamics/air flow expert.

Re: (Relic1)
Thanks, basically a stock b18c5. The panel is only going to be used because of the cramped deminsions of the box, however I may beable to get a cone filter on by minipulating the space around the box (building a box that would fit like a puzzle peice).
