I can't find much 'cept for integra **** by searching
Anyways, did American (USDM) 92-95 coupes/hatches (bumpers were diff for 4drs) have optional OEM fog lights at any point? I've seen 'em on 92-95 but they look aftermarket. Is this only some Japan **** or what?
I'm looking to put fogs in the (I guess it would be the "OEM place") slots on each side on my '95 EX but what's JDM/USDM/Aftermarket/years is just confusing the **** outta me. Need 'em to be black housings (to match bumper)...I want them to look nice but they're for functionality....opposed to for aesthetics - but I don't want something that looks ugly as **** (something clean/OEM looking but works well) - because anybody that lives in the hudson valley or Rochester (both places I go) can tell you sometimes the fog gets ridiculously thick here..and the headlights just aren't enough.
Gonna put xenon bulbs in for the headlights b/c in my opinion they aren't bright enough..but that's not gonna help me in the fog department.
Anyways, so anybody got any suggestions, somewhere along the lines of:
- Yes they made them, and they're some ridiculous price like 500 bucks OEM from honda
- They're only aftermarket, go on ebay, ebay's fine for fogs...
- This place (www.****.com) makes good ones
Something to that effect...looking for good quality but not lookin to drop 300 bucks on fogs
Is e-**** any good? I mean they're fog lights, not like I'm buying a turbo kit from there...?
Blah, any info on these?
And yeah, for those of you who are going to tell me it's been covered 1000 times, I know, but I couldn't find any threads that asked the Q's that I wanted to ask, so blah :-\...
Thx in advance..
EDIT:
PS: I assume they did have fogs optional now that I think about it due to the blanked over switch cover to the right of my column (opposite the cruise control)....assumption is correct in that's what that's for? So I'd need a switch too...unless I gay it up w/ some autozone switch, or just drill a whole out and put an autozone switch in the cover...blah....getting ahead of myself..
Ya, thx in advance..

If you're refering to the the grey/silver bezels, those are the JDM/USDM/OEM/EDM/AUDM foglights. That's just kind of how they looked. Buy some ebay ones, and just paint the bezels black.

Those are aftermarket, but that's how they look straight from Honda.

****, you mean I have to buy 'em in that queer silver color? Okay I suppose if your car's like...navajo white...but mine's like...harlem black..
Anyways with that said, I don't feel like painting the housings black and I'm sure that contrast on a black bumper looks like ****.
How are they from ebay? **** like the rest of it or are they decent enough that they won't break and will get the job done?

My friend bought some on eBay, and they're just fine. Even buy them from PW:JDM, you can get yellow or clear, and they work just fine. Paint the bezels and call it a day. They remove COMPLETELY from the foglight, so you don't have to worry about masking. Just scuff them with some 600+ grit sandpaper, and then hit them with some Duplicolor black Bumper/Trim paint

Yellow or clear what? Bulbs? Which one's better for functionality in cutting through fog? Knowing that the main idea of fog lights is to illuminate the lines on the side of the road I'd have to assume that white is...but ya never know, yellow IS I do believe higher up the frequency line than white light but iono, any physics majors would be help here, thanks

Yellow or clear lenses.
If you read the link in my sig, it'll give you some insight. In all truth, a yellow foglight is going to be BRIGHTER because of the use of filters on the bulbs or lens. If you're looking for maximum visibility, use a clear foglight with a CLEAR bulb (GE Nighthawk, Phillips Vision+ 50%, Osram Silverstars, etc). Honnestly, read the link, it'll tell you more than you ever want to know about lighting

Means it'll fit 92 93 94 95 .... they just put it in there as a search keyword, for people searching for ONLY their year.

Eh, yeah, that figures...
Thank you, you have helped me out a great deal, I greatly appreciate it. Read your link, good lecture.
Does anybody else have any input w/ reasoning that contraries buying them off of ebay? Like you bought 'em and they worked for 2 weeks....or the bulbs burnt up....or you got a ticket...or anything of that sort??
If not then I guess ebay it is FTW...
(never thought I'd say that).

You could always buy them hassle-free from JDMSh!t.com ... $115 shipped, fast shipping, and you have someone to call if they go **** up.

I'm so stupid, I sold a bumper with the OEM fogs in it (perfecto condition) for $20

Yes you are
Yes you are
wow, lots of misinformation going on in here
yes there were OEM optional foglights in all markets including the US
OEM foglights have the grey bezels and are either yellow or clear lenses, yellow provides greater visiblity in fog because it cuts through the fog unlike white which illuminates the fog and makes visibility worse, that's the reason OEM Honda clear lense fogs have yellow looking bulbs when they are lit up
and OEM style fogs aren't better than Genuine Honda fogs, and they aren't cheaper either, I got my Genuine JDM yellow lense stanley fogs for $90 shipped on ebay, the same price as fake ebay fogs, and cheaper than JHP, PWJDM, etc
the wiring for OEM fogs is alot better than Depo aftermarket copies, alot of people have relays blow and wiring melt, bulbs burn out etc...
and for reference, here's my EJ1 with Genuine Honda yellow lense foglights installed

What misinformation?
Yellow does not help in fog, it's a percieved benefit. And yes, of course the stanley ones work better, but the DEPO ones work just find. If you wanna argue about yellow being better, I'll prove you wrong. But whatever.

The usefulness of selective yellow has been all but completely disproved. France, in fact, used to mandate that all headlights be coated with a yellow paint or dichroic filter. This law was repealed years ago. Yellow foglights do not put out as much light because of interference of the wavelengths.
And foglights are not the same as driving lights. Foglights are a low beam, and are supposed cut-off below the fog line. Fog generally rests 6-12" above the road surface. Also, the fog particles are not small enough for yellow light to pass through without reflecting back. And being as the human eye reacts more to yellow light, the light reflected back stimulates they pupil more, and actually creates MORE glare.

Nice explanation guy. The aftermarkets are basically the same as the OEMs... obviously alot of thye aftermarkets are cheaply made and will not withstand the test of time. With the amount of low mileage cars in Japan, that would be the way to go. But the price will always get to you unless you find a good deal. Usually either JHPUSA or Password JDM has a good deal if they are not moving the fog lights out of inventory fast enough. There are some reputable companies out there that manufacture great knockoffs but they are few and far between. maybe some of you on here have bought fogs and can give some website addys or Ebay seller names to help everyone out. I am getting JDM ones from PasswordJDM but I am getting them with a front bumper since my bumper looks like I drove through the Baja 1000 with all the chips in it from driving too fast back and forth from Cali to Indiana... LOL

Thanks for all your help guys, greatly appreciated, I'll do more research in the physics dept in white vs yellow as there seems to be convincing arguments both ways..
Thanks to all!!
