is there suppose to be a gap at the bottom of the wg valve?
on my tial wg there seems to be a gap at the bottom of the valve... is there suppose to be a gap or not? i never really paid any attention when i first bought it brand new...

There shouldn't be.
The ring should be just big enough so it sticks out the bottom a hair, then when you torque the wastegate to the manifold it pushed on the fire ring a bit, which pushes up on the valve a bit, so you get a good seal.
Maybe it's possible that your fire ring is worn and you need a new one??

Its also possible that the valve was seated into the top part of the WG a little too far.
I noticed this was possible with my 35mm Tial. I had to rotate the plate with the side fitting so it didnt hit my hood, and in the process I noticed that the valve was held in by allen set screws and was able to be pushed in just a little too far.
