Default eBay turbo kits

I have a feeling i already know the answer to this one, but I'm looking to turbo my B18C1. I am planning on building the motor (forged bottom end, head work, new valvetrain and cams, etc.), but I don't want to spend six million dollars on a turbo kit if I can get one for less than a thousand on eBay (i.e. generic all-parts-included straight outta mainland China stuff). I figure a best-scenario compromise would be to get a good name-brand turbo and generic piping and intercooler, etc.

Also, as far as sleeving the block: do I need to? This is my daily driver, but I'd like to get 400-450whp from it. Let me know if I am being stupid.

P.P.S. Anyone know any good tuner shops in the Orlando, FL area?

looks like your ready to spend the money in the wrong places.

u shouldnt need to sleeve the block at those levels, a simple cp piston/eagle rod combo will work best. save the money on the headwork and keep it stock(or just do spring/retainers) keep your gsr cams.

save the money on the headwork and peice together a good kit with quality parts.

u can peice together a good kit for 1500-2000

I agree....don't sleeve, just do a simple piston/rod combo, get a good turbo setup and have fun...dont cheap out or you'll end up doing it over...i personally guarantee it

Thanks, because I was looking at about $6000 in engine parts here...

So, because I obviously don't know a lot, if I go with 9:1 pistons, how much boost should I run on the street with 93 octane? Let me know If I'm entering too far into noob bullshit territory here.

it depends which turbo as far as how much boost. i think u can hit the 400whp mark and be pretty safe on 93 octane

If you don't know alot, then you dont need 450 whp....

For your 1st set up anything less than 300 would be fine.

Another person ready to get ripped off by this junk.I bought it not knowing what it was.Now even after having the turbo rebuilt it still broke, the manifold is also starting to crack.I'll have to repair it until I can get another decent quality one sorted. Please please please don't buy this junk

I did a little search on the net.I bet this is the place where SSAC get their parts from. http://mgpracing.en.alibaba.com/

But, I'm already making less than 300hp...

If something breaks, I can fix it. It's just the finer points of forced induction that I am new to. My safest route, as I see it, is to bolt together a tried-and-true combo and have an experienced tuner make it roadworthy. If I can't make lots of power and/or run low 12's with a turbo, I don't see the point in doing it at all.

you are looking at about 2500 for a really good quality turbo setup...

7-800$ for pistons and rods, leave the head stock for now... get some head studs... and 300-350 is all you will need... depending on what motor you are running

when you get used to 350whp.. then go bigger...

12s is very easy with 300whp
