when i changed my head gasket in my 95 gsr, the pcv valuve was broke, there was grease and all this gunk around it holding it together, but when i cleaned it up and all the check engine light came on.........i just replaced the valuve but my check engine light does not come on right when i start the car, it will come on like 10 minutes down the road, and im not possitive that the check engine light is for the pcv valuve, would anyone know why the light doesnt come on right away when i turn the car on? and would the pcv valuve cause the check engine....

 

Why don't you just get the code read instead of playing the guessing game. Most part stores (autozone, checker, kragen, murrays, ect.) will hook it up to a diagnostic scanner for free.
