Default Vehicle Speed Sensor.. What is interchangeable? D/B Help!

Crappy cell phone pics-

The vss that came out of my s80 itr tranny.

If a d-series VSS is interchangeable..with b-series You would haft to use One bolt because the B-series VSS is two bolt? Although the gears on the end of the VSS are different shapes is it still the same gear?

Only reason i ask my VSS isn't really defective The three prongs in the top of the harness on the vss one of my prongs has broken off causing CEL # 17

do they tops of the actualy sensor pop/pry off so i could just use the sensor part off of the good VSS?

Btw- Searched and here are my alternatives..

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1813909
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1751040

Any ideas greatly appriciated

They're interchangable.

Incorrect.

The ring gears are different.. You haft to pull the clip on the VSS slide the ring gear out and then after swapping the ring gear i went to bolt up the VSS and the Hole that the 10mm bolt goes through doesn't line up with the transmission housing..it's to short as you can see if you look in the pics

I got this plastic VSS from a friend and i believe he said it was from an ''LX''

So if d-series VSS are interchangeable with B- Series which ones are?

I dunno man, all of the pages i searched and sifted through had very vague information..

All i Know for a fact is that the VSS that looks like this: http://slhondaparts.com/browse...=true

Won't work because the bolt doesn't line up with the tranny housing..

I'm thinking the DX,LX vss are slighly different b/c the one from an LX isn't long enough.. I'm not even 100% sure that i have an LX vss.. The kid didn't know

Don't pull the whole gear out, just unbolt the sensor on top and replace it, they are interchangable.

Nope, It wouldn't be bolted up and that **** wouldn't be safe

However I'm starting to believe i was gave an automatic speed sensor.. Because i just found where they DO have different mounting locations.. I lost the thread though.. damn man WTF automatic VSS FTL!!

It's an automatic VSS you have. I had the same problem. The plastic one you posted in your picture looks identical to the one I tried to install in a GSR transmission. It never worked and would not mount correctly.
