I'm not trying to be brutally mean here, just brutally honest:

It was retarded of you to sand your door without knowing what you were doing. You now need to take it to a body shop and PRAY you didn't go through your clear coat. They will attempt to sand again, then cut and buff. If you did burn your clear, you'll probably need the entire door repainted.

Good job.

I can't confirm this, but I searched online and found a few things...

http://www.freerepublic.com/fo...posts
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Get a $5 can of GOOF OFF!

To you and all others with spray paint on cars... Before you go and get some high-priced paint job, I urge you to look under your kitchen sink for items that can save you money and damage to your paint job.

I had my green car stolen and the morons used RED household spray paint to try to disguise the car. It was recovered and the insurance totalled the car because they were to cheap to pay for a paint job. I bought the car back (you can do that in Michigan) since the body and engine were still good.

Under my kitchen sink, was a can of GOOF OFF that I used to get crayon off my walls. I sprayed some on the car, waited a minute and the spray paint wiped right off! So I bought three more cans and for $20 and some elbow grease, I had my car back... PLUS the $5,000 the insurance gave me.

You can get GOOF OFF in any grocery or hardware store and its only $5 a can and it doesnt harm your cars paint or finish.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Or here: http://www.impalahq.com/HowTo/Spraycan.html

He used an adhesive remover. Might as well try some things like this first. If you used chemicals on your car be careful. A lot of the things that will remove the spray paint can also damage your paint underneath.

Well, now you've probably dry sanded it and caused some decent damage yourself. i'd recommend looking into how much getting that part repainted might cost you.

even if you did go through your clearcoat on the door, that can be fixed really easily. Just take like a 1600 grit sandpaper and sand the whole door just enough to where the clearcoat is all off. Then wipe it down and re-clearcoat it. i used to work at a dealership. the body shop manager told me to do that with my car that i painted myself.
