Default everyone says KYB AGXis junk, are they really that bad?

Everybody on Hondaswap.com says my setup is crap, they all hate KYB AGXs. Thats what i have. i ran them on my previous car for a couple months, and never had any problems with them, now im having second thoughts because people say they blow out in a few months. I cant afford to put them on and have them fail shortly afterwards.

they're fine. agx's have proven to be a decent shock for the price.

just don't abuse them - same with anything else.

I only have a slight drop on them with Tein S. Techs.... i think i did a good job of matching the springs with the shocks too.

Generally shocks only blow when the car is dropped too low for what the shock is designed to handle. AGX's + s techs should have no problems whatsoever.

AGX with any sport or oe springs will work fine because generally they do not drop the car very low and do not have high spring rates.

If the car is a DD car then the AGX's are fine. But don't bother using them for autocross or tracking.

I have no experince witht he kyb's, however, My buddy bought some used and put them on his civic eg coupe and slammed them with coilovers and has had no problems, "yet" , He is using the 91 Civic struts with Fork. (fully built integ ls motor @15 psi)

I myself just purchased some kyb AXG's for my 95 civic EX, I bought the 89-91 struts, I currently have the tokito blues and they blew after 7 months.......

Although I am on coilovers as well.

So im thinkng the KYB's with nuespeed springs will be casual, whatcha think?

I have em with skunk two coilovers from an integra. It rides pretty good most of the time but sometimes the ride gets harsh. What can I do to smooth it out. I'm not really slammed either. Sorry for the thread jack.

Now lets ask this question
#1 What did you guys do with the bump stops?

#2 How do you want the dampening, hard in the front soft in the back?

With coilovers, all my friends trash the bump stops, when I had springs on my Ford I cut them in half, I tryed to leave the bump stops in my civic with coilovers, but the car was "bouncy" Took them out and it wasnt bouncy anymore..........

They were already cut prior to my old springs but neuspeed says you don't have to cut the bumpstop.

yep, for daily driving, 4 back, 3 front. for autox, 4 back, 2 front to give a little less understeer. for drag, 4/4, for less body movement.
