sub and amp install

Default sub and amp install

okay so i installed my amp and sub with a 2000 watt amp kit and a 12 inch kicker and an xplode amp but im not gettin any bass out of the sub do i hook up the speaker wire from the radio to the amp then to the sub or from the radio to the sub then the amp or do i just run speaker wire from the amp to the sub???? i know the sub works becasue it worked in my buddies car so any and all info and tip and whatever would be great thanks guys

the speaker wire goes from amp to sub.
the remote goes from the radio to the amp
the RCAs go from the radio to the amp
the power goes from battery to amp
the ground goes from amp to ground

okay so i did all that but when u turn it up it like shorts and gets staticy what does that mean??? like every time the sub pounds it shorts but not when its turned down only when its turned up, this thing is pissin me off seriously lol i hooked it up then i heard it poundin so i turned it up to show the neighbors i got a new system then it shorts haha you shoulda been there but yeah if you know what thats caused from then that would be great so i can fix it
