Hey guys..Well my oy just picked up an eg hatch...d15b7 non vtec...auto(i questioned him about the auto..he said he didnt want stick) well heres the problem..well when he got the car, the previous owner had just passed smog... When my boy got the car it was leaking oil, due to a blown head gasket..but the car ran good...but no one wants to drive around a car with a blown gasket....so his cousin removed the manifold and headers from the head and left them attached to car with hoses and sensors attched, and removed the head only removing the hoses and senors that interfered with the head. He then replaced the head gasket put back together the head torqued it correctly adn re-attached all the nessesary hoses and sensors to their original position.. Now when he starts the car and is in park or nutral(at idle) the car revs up and down ..tach dosent work so dont know rpms to read..it sounds like rmmmm rmmm rmmm rmmm rmmm or something like that..checked to see if all the hoses and sensors were attched and everything looked good..no cel is thrown and i was stumped... so anything that could have gone wrong or any thing i should check....thanks guys in advance for any input
did you guys do a valves adjustment? also make sure that there is no leak in any of the vacum hoses. and check your iacv( idle are control vavle)hope that helps

yah valve adjustment was done as i was told..what do u think is the best way to check for vaccum leaks...the only way i know is to get plyer and squeeze vaccum hoses and whcih ever stop the pulsing for a sec has the leak..is that way correct, havent done it in a long time forgot to do it when i looked at it..i check the iacv twice and the linens are exactly where there supposed to be...thanks for the input..thanks again in advance
