Default Brake Master Cyl Question

Alright, I'm deleting the ABS on my Integra, and I've heard to do so, you have to use a RS brake booster and master cyl, along with the prop valve and hardlines.

But, would it be possible to use a Gs-R brake booster, and master cyl, but get stainless steel lines from the Gs-R master cyl to the RS prop valve and then to the brakes?

haha thanks, i plan on making my car a track only car and i want to learn to properly brake without having to rely on abs to slow me down. I'd rather be able to maximize braking without locking up =]

ive been driving my RS (obviously no abs) for 2 yrs now and it does improve overall brake feel. and under some circumstances, having the ability to lock up the wheels are a plus. good luck with your project

I'm going through the same thing right now. I'll list the main differences I've seen so far:

One of the outlets on the GS-R master cylinder comes out towards the passenger side of the vehicle. The RS m.c. comes out towards the driver's side.

The same outlet on the GS-R master cylinder uses a larger thread fitting. It also appears to be a larger diameter line.

In order to make it work, you'd have to have a custom hard-line made to go from the larger fitting on the GS-R m.c. to the smaller fitting on the RS prop. valve. I decided not to bother with that route.

So today during lunch, I'm going to go to Kragen to pick up an RS m.c. for forty-something dollars. I'm not sure if the GS-R brake booster can be used yet but I'll likely find out tonight. I'll post when I find out. Hope this helps.

well i also heard that the RS master cyl won't work on the Gs-R brake booster, apparently the RS master cyl bolts onto the brake booster at a different angle.

But I'm not even looking to get custom hardlines made, i have a friend who can make stainless steel lines, and i wanted to have him make them for the Gs-R master cyl to the RS prop valve since I know the RS hardlines will NOT fit the Gs-R Master Cyl.

Basically the only thing I'm wondering is, was there any other difference in the brake booster between abs->non abs than the position the master cyl was at.

Yes, that can (and has been) done. You can go from metric to AN and back to metric. Just make sure the metric fittings are machined for an inverted flare fitting. I believe one port on the GS-R m.c. is 12mm and the other is 10mm.

alright cool, i was just making sure, as i've seen people say you HAD to run the RS brake booster as well and i wasn't sure if it was just because of the way the master cyl bolted to the booster or for some other reason, thanks =]
