Default JDM style hood on usdm EF..... Any modifications needed?

Well for a b-series swap we need a jdm siR hood, right?

And we're getting a jdm/ siR style cf hood... Will this fit with the usdm front bumper and front quarter panels? Or will something else need to be modified?

Also, does it matter if it goes on a crx or EF hatch? It's not trim level dependant is it?

Thanks.

If it is the SiR hood from Fiberimages then it will fit the US spec front ends fine. And for a b16 you do not need a hood. It is only when you swap in a b18c1 or b18c that you would think about investing in a new hood.

.....this is for an 88 crx si with jdm itr motor.

VIS jdm style hood..... they have a regular one, but i've heard the jdm one has a slight hump to clear certain swaps...

Do you have a link to it?? It is a pretty good idea to get one for a b18 swap due to the higher deck height of the b18.

I have a B18c1 in my 88crx with HAsport mounts - and I just chopped the ribs out of my stock hood - fits perfect.

Yeah you can swap the hood. Civic hatchbacks and crxs have the same hoods. The 4drs like mine have a different hood.

.....ok, just to make certain: there aren't any problems with a jdm siR hood with usdm front bumper or front quarter panels, right?

Ok a jdm SiR hood will not fit the USDM front end. A jdm "style" hood like the fiberimages or VIS will fit the US front end. I just saw another post that confirmed this. The jdm carbon fiber hood that jdmhondaparts sells will not fit the US front end

I had a 91 CRX w/ HASport mounts and a B16 and it rubbed the factory steel hood. Now I have a 91 Civic with the same mounts and a B18C1 with a regular old FiberImages hood..no rubbing.

ok, final question (i promise):

the VIS hoods - which one will fit usdm front end without modifications, but clear a dohc vtec b series motor?

and which one will require jdm front bumper and headlights?

The jdm hood has a different slope on the front, you also need the rad support and the headlights. Hasport makes a sir style hood i think.
