My project log thread: Rear suspension rebuild and build...
Well since this is an on going project that I will be taking over the winter, I figured I'd start a thread and log my progress. Last year I was able to completely build up my front suspension with a DA knuckle and brake swap, full-race traction bars, poly bushings, new ball joints, and tie rods. Now it's time for the rear build.
Heres the plan of attack:
- Replace passenger side trailing arm (slightly bent from previous owner).
- Replace wheel bearings
- Replace all control arm bushings with black poly urethane
- Replace factory trailing arm bushings
- Replace the toe links with adjustable heim links.
- Replace my ingalls camber kit with heim links.
- Custom sway bar bracket fab using the toe hook locations with DA sway bar.
- DIY lower tie bar with some 1" aluminum tubing.
- Fast Brakes drum to disk conversion 10.9" rotors with single piston wilwood calipers, and ss lines.
I will also be installing a complete SCCA compliant cage as well but I'm still trying to find documentation on how it should look. Once the cage is installed I will be sound deadening the entire interior with the light weight stuff, and recarpeting the back half of the car. The goal is a streetable time attack racer.
Updates soon.
