Type R Tranny
Thinking of purchasing a type r but took it for a test drive and doesn't feel like it has and type r tranny on it. what are some ways i can tell if it has one or not? No stamp or any sort of vin on the tranny.
driving about 70 mph should the rpm be arounf 4k??
If i lift it up on a jack and turn the wheels should they turn the same direction if it had lsd or turn opposite direction?
Thanks

It should say "p73 LSD" or something like that on it. Also if u lift the car up and spin the wheels both wheels should spin in the same direction.
But im curious to know aswell what an itr tranny should feel like?

Operational Check
1. Set the parking brake and block the rear wheels.
2. Raise the front of the vehicle, and support it with
safety stands in the proper locations.
3. With the engine off, shift the transmission into 1st
gear.
4. Rotate either front wheel by hand and check that
the other wheel rotates in the opposite direction.
5. lf the opposite front wheel does not rotate, or if vou
cannot spin the front wheels at all, the limited slip
differential is faulty and should be replaced.

The marking can come off with something strong such as brake cleaner or undiluted degreaser (I imagine), but the marking would say "J4D LSD" in black, on the transmission case, facing the front of the car.
As for what RPM at what speed in 5th gear: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1567665
