long story short... keyway broke...crank got stripped.... valves got bent...
here is my question...
when i bring the head into a machine shop to get a valve job... do i need to bring them in NEW VALVES or are they going to repair the ones that got bent?

im having trouble figuring out why the valves got bent from the keyway stripping, was the cam gear key way?, did the crank pulley fall off and you kept driving, i know my crank pulley fell off one time coming to a red light, it was the most awful sound ever.

both keyways that sit on the crankshaft busted....the key for the pully and the key for the sproket thingy that runs the timing belt... when the timing belt no longer was able to turn the cams... im sure it left a total of 8 valves lowered when the pistons were still able to pump, bottom end was moving...head stopped... hence...bent valves...

thats just what the shop told me.. makes sence... but i pulled the head off yesterday and saw no signs of bent valves... not sure if that is something you can just tell from looking at it or not... but i was told i would need a valve job to correct this issue...

Have a shop check the valves to see which ones might be bent. They will have to pull the valve springs to check. You might be able to see marking on the valve relief area of the pistons, if the valves touched them- - - or not.

take the valves out lay them in a straight line. you can easily tell if they are bent or not if one is leaning

i wouldnt trust omni to make something decent enough for any engine internals.

take the valves out put the stems on a perfectly flat surface and roll them along it.

I havent heard anything bad on the Omni valve train.. its been out for well over a year. Only thing you need to do is watch the retainers ( which you should do anyways when you are running titanium retainers.)
