When applying gas the car is fine never cuts off. when I let it sit it idles at around 700 rpm and then the idle drops and it sounds like it starts to missfire and then cuts off. The car sputters when trying to accelerate at low rpm but above 3000 there is no sputter. Any Ideas or help will be appreciated. Thanks

 

Sounds like you need a tune-up.

Check your spark plugs, wires, dist. cap & rotor.

If that doesn't help, check your fuel filter/pump.

Is your ECU stock, or has it been modified/chipped? That might be the cause of a poor base fuel map.

 

clean out your throttle body, IACV, and the fast idle valve
