Honda filter, full synthetic 5W30 - either Mobil1 or Pennzoil Platinum, whichever is cheaper. Right now Pennzoil is much cheaper; the oil is $3.97/quart (or $18.97 for a five-quart jug) at Wal-Mart, and through the end of the year, Pennzoil gives you a $15 rebate when you buy six quarts of synthetic.

Castrol GTX and Pure One filters, 300,600 miles and counting. Pull my valve cover, and the head looks clean as a whistle.

That sounds like really dumb logic when it comes to what motor oil to use. You should use what works and what you can afford. Just because alot of people use the same motor oil is not reason to use something different. If anything it means you SHOULD use it.
But having said that, I don't know many people here using Royal Purple.
I started using Valvoline MaxLife 5w30 at 118,000 miles, and now at 240,000 miles it still doesn't leak a drop.

OEM Honda S2K Filter Or Mobile1 Filter with Redline 10w30 for me!
Fram filter with Castrol GTX....been driving honda's for over 10 years and using the same oil change products. No problems
The 5W30 viscosity is recommended by Honda as preferred at all temperatures, according to the owner's manual and service manual for the U.S. market. They also say that you can also use 10W30 if it doesn't go below freezing in your area, but that 5W30 is preferred.

In the U.S, Mobil 1 generally costs $5.47 a quart and $21.97 for a five-quart jug at Wal-Mart, which is less than Sam's Club and Costco, which are $28.99 for a six-quart case. As I previously mentioned, Pennzoil Platinum is much cheaper; the oil is $3.97/quart (or $18.97 for a five-quart jug) at Wal-Mart, and through the end of the year, Pennzoil gives you a $15 rebate when you buy six quarts of synthetic.
