Default need some help.

Tonight i was driving on the highway at normal speeds 70-80 or so and stepped on it once and vtec engaged correctly. I stopped at a rest stop, and of course turned the car off. Got back in and was accelerating onto the highway, no vtec, no cel. I am very confused, I can feel the car hit the crossover point but the high camshaft lobe does not engage. However, as stated before I am not throwing a cel code. I went and checked my oil, and I was a little low, but had just changed it a little over 1500 miles ago. I proceeded to add a little oil. Got back in the car and still no vtec. I know 99.9% of problems with vtec will shut off the system entirely, and throw a cel. So somebody with higher knowledge, help me out.

By the way this is in my obd0 b16a crx

also accidently posted this in 92-00 somebody please delete that thread.

low oil can cause vtec not to work.

You might want to check the electrical connections going to the vtec solenoid, and where the ground from the solenoid grounds to the chassis, or if it was built in your harness, there could be a build up of corrision.

Also, your car has to be warmed up to operating temps. before VTEC engages.... I just thought of that.

Ive deduced that it's something electrical, like a plug coming lose somewhere. Its not a ground, but somewhere either in the harness or the wires leading to the plugs.
