I just installed a Vtec controller into my 99 GS-R and when I installed it, it died out. On the third time it started up fine. This is after I followed the steps after installing it. I can smell that my car is running rich too. If anyone can help me out what I did wrong or if they have any set ups they have put into there cars I would really appreciate it. All I have in my car is a V2 AEM intake and a Greddy SP exhaust.

u might have installed the map snesor wire wrong

Did your Check engline light, light up?

 

sell it and get hondata

 

just take it off. you dont need it with an intake and exhaust.

and when the time comes when you do need to tune, there are better options.

 

those things are pieces of ****. throw it away, chip your ecu, and get it tuned.

if thats wut u got to work with..then use it...i say...but wen i installed mine on my 00 gsr..i would get that smell also...double check your wireing...almost 90% of the time wen ur having trouble setting it up its the wireing...once installed properly...have fun!

coo! thanks bro. yeah, I took it off for right now. I have to smog my car soon. Im planning on getting other mods such as, spoon cam gears or skunk, some cam shafts and skunk intake manifold.
