why won't my obd1 conversion work right? harness? ecu?
posted about this before. still can't find an answer to why my obd2-obd1 conversion will not work. i have a skunk2 chipped obd1 PO6 ecu and jdmsh!t conversion harness. car is a 98 cx hatch with b18 ls swap. checked out soldering on chip in the ecu, and it looks like honda did it(flawless). all the pins and connections on the harness are perfect. checked pin-out schematics on obd1 and obd2 ecu's and everything lines up for the swap. but when i hook it up, my car idles like a wrx that wants to die...and i show no cel's when i bridge the diagnostic check plug. i've heard something about having to swap from an obd2 to an obd1 distributor, because the timing profiles are different, and so when i hook up the obd1 ecu, it throws my timing out of whack, and that's how it acts too. but i've had alot of ppl tell me that there's no reason to convert to an obd1 dizzy. also, i've had ppl tell me that i need to splice obd1 injector plugs, and use the obd1 injectors, bc they have different signals, but i know that's bull. anyone ever have this problem and know the solution?? could i just have a bad chip in my ecu? it's supposedly tested and works fine. any help to this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like a Bad Ecu Chip.. Try it w/a stock OBD1 LS Ecu or OBD1 Dx ecu. Distributor & Injectors work the same. If you have a stock LS, rock a stock P75. Runs best that way.
