Default 1994-96 fog light switch question. *searched*

ok well i searched all over honda-tech and cant seem to find the answer im looking for. so if anyone knows the answer to my question please help me!

well first, i won a item on ebay. which is the foglight relay and foglight subharness and foglight switch for my 94 prelude. since the foglights are already prewired on our cars i was wondering will all this plug right up? some people are saying the foglight switch harness on USDM prelude are different from the JDM prelude. all i want to know is will all this stuff plug and play? thanks!

the relay and harness should plug in under the dash board. and I believe you might need to ground it not sure.

the switch can be one of three. and your car can be one of three. theres the 92-93? which had the switch up by the tweeter which you do not have. it is either the fat foglight switch which is the size of the hazard and goes beside the hazard or its the skinny one that goes in the switches console in front of the armrest.
I am not sure if they have different plugs. but the plug is prewired and should be right below that console by the cup holder. your car most likely is wired for the skinny switch which I think is the one recieved.

You bought a JDM switch, which is not plug and play and like USDM switches. You may want to consider forgoing the switch and just using the paper clip trick

Why is the foglight switch different than the USDM one? It will work, There would be no reason for it not to.

The paper clip trick is taking a paper clip and putting it in pin 5 and 9 on the bottom row. (IIRC) Its ghetto...

IF you got the correct switch, it is directly plug and play. plug the switch into its connector, plug the relay into the connector under the steering column, and it should work like a charm. dont even need the sub-harness

Correct. But why would the JDM switch be different than the USDM one? No one has ever said anything like this before. Like esedulerp5tenin said...IF you have the 94-96 swtich then you will be golden. If you have any questions you can PM me...I just got done doing my fogs today.

there is a diference betweent the JDM switch and the USDM switch. Trust me I went through all that crap. I have a 95 so the wiring harness for the fog lights is with the hazard harnes. I have the JDM switch and I just cliped the connector from the USDM harness and wired it into the JDM. Works fine. But there is a difference in switches. JDM switch goes where there are 4 blanks. The USDM switch goes either where the tweeter cover is or right next to the hazard button.

yea i figured since all i needed to do was plug and play it'll work. but i heard that something about the JDM switch being different from the USDM switch. but the guy on ebay will be giving me the pigtail from the JDM switch so maybe i need to do some minor wiring and it'll be koo. and yes i got a 94-96 switch. the one that goes on the center console.
