how many miles has it done, how hard do you drive it?

its got to be going SOMEWHERE

i'd get a friend to follow you and see if it definately isn't burning any, as it may well be leaking whilst its parked?

give us some more info dude

My ITR is a little thirsty for the oil as well. Mostly, if not only, when I'm in vtec. Normal cruising is fine. I'll go through at least 1 litre during a track day though. Not really sure what is causing it. Maybe the piston rings are failing . Not sure if that would play a role.

All joking aside, I thought Blue smoke and excessive oil burning meant piston rings aren't doing soo well

could be valve seals as well. go drive the car, step on the gas full throttle for a few seconds, then let off the gas completely. does it smoke while you are on or off the gas? report back to us.

also check your coolant and make sure you have no oil floating around in the coolant or on the bottom of the radiator cap.

when you did the "turn up" what exactly did you do? plugs, wires, cap/rotor? any signs of hesitation or driving problems? what do your plugs look like?

i just do the tune up 2 monts ago and i change plugs, wires, cap/rotor , timing belt , water pump , oil pen gasket, main seal ( between engline and transmission that seal ?) , camshaft seal ( i just change last week ) for this part

Finally , i forgot to say is my car have little oil leak before and then my friend told me i need do the tune up and then replace the new oil pen gasket and main seal. After i finish the tune up and i still find out oil leak , i go ask my friend he said may be this time is camshaft seal leak and then i go to replace the camshaft seal too, until now i still see the a little oil leak from Oil pen and main seal ( i saw some oil under the transmission ) i dont know why ???

so is that mean burn oil that fast ?? and how can i do

Tks

that oil leak could just be your distributor o-ring. i doubt you are losing THAT MUCH oil from there. you would have a pretty big mess. go do the tests I said and report back.

It's normal for an ITR to burn a quart of oil every 1000-3000 miles on the street, and a quart every 150-300 miles on the racetrack.

You say you burn a quart every 1-2 weeks, but you don't say how many miles you drive during that period or where you drive it. If you're driving 500-1000 miles per week, then that's normal. If you're driving 50-100 miles per week, then you have a problem.

Yeah I've had the same problem with buring oil, but then again who hasn't with an R. I was told the same thing at the dealer. Well not the race tracking thing but the quart every 1000 miles or so.

To the original poster you might want do a search. When I searched for this problem I found a lot of answers to my questions and if you dont find answers you can try things out that other people did to reach a solution.

If you replaced the oil pan gasket and its still eaking then either you nipped the gasket and its not sealing properly or thats not where the oil was leaking from in the first place.

Using oil in not uncommon in any B-series engine, i have a policy that i wont rebuild an engine until i'm going through at least 7 litres of oil between 5k services and thats not including the 4.2 litres that was put in the engine during the service
