It seems like your question was answered, what don't you understand? BTW, someone said it before but I'll say it again...don NOT use lapping compound at the seal. The compound is to help seat the valves into the valve seats. They come in coarse and fine. Use coarse first, then fine obviously. Take a cordless drill (or corded will work too) and a piece of rubber tubing. One end of the tubing goes into the dril, the other around the valve stem (helps to use zip tie).

It's not the best choice, but if he's on a tight dollar, or a DIYer, I have used it before with no problems.
