Car Wont Start! Broken Crank! =(
I have a 92 jdm H22a, Pulled my car out of the drive way about 2 days ago went to make a right started to drive a little bit and then my car just died! I was low on gas so I thought it may be gas! Pushed the car home, went to get gas and still the car would not start! Checked battery, still nothing. Checked starter, still nothing.
My mechaninc came over and looked the car over and suggested maybe the msd coil went bad. Went and bought a new one, still nothing! Tried to change out the ignition module in the dizzy and still nothing! Finally after being stuck, and another try to start the car, we noticed that the timing belt was not moving when i tried to start the car.
Maybe broken Crank RIght?

just make sure the engine is turning like bb4ever said...if it is turning and still wont start then...look into electrical (esp grounds coil distributor) then fuel
the crank would not just "break"..you would really have to be beating on it...
i broke a crank in a v8 once..and trust me i knew it was gonna happen..but i kept on driving home b/c i already knew the cheapo reman engine had seriously spun bearings and was shot anyway so i continued...and within 1/2 mile i broke the crank and had to tow it...dammit so close
(i made it 3 miles though in a full-size K-5 blazer)...think about that..thats what it takes to break a crank

yea, i try to learn about my motor but i dont know to much, the motor had just been rebuilt all oem parts and i only have 2000 miles on it. But I know the motor is not moving.
we tried 5 different coils and i bought a brand new internal coil for the stock distributor and it still did not work. We disconnected the msd and tried this!

if you just rebuilt your engine, check and see if the crank is on tight like BB4ever said....if youre mechanic was smart, he would have done a couple of hand spins on the crank to see if it would move the timing belt or what not, if it did, then it could just be your crank position sensor...are you throwing any CEL's??
haha this is just too funny.
does it sound like it normally does when you're turning it over? i don't think you could break the crank and still turn it over without it being obvious that something is completely fubarred.
