I believe they are the mounting points for the rear sway.

the brackets mount to your factory toe hook locations and serve as the mounting point for the rear swaybar. the 88-91 civic has the swaybar mounted to the underside of the rear chassis, not to the rear subframe like the EG/EK/DC.

Exactly correct. The rear bar is larger and better positioned with the relocation brackets. The rear bar is 3 way adjustable.
I have the kit myself, is awesome!

Here's a couple pics. Until last year, the bars were silver in colour:

The black brackets are for cars that aren't equipped with a rear bar from the factory.
Since you have an Si, you don't need them.
If you'd like to sell the contact me.

Those are way more beffy than the stock brackets, so even if you didn't "need" them, I would still use them.

I don't think I would ever bolt on a bigger bar to the completely stock brackets.

Keep the stock brackets as well for tow...just incase! The OEM tow brackets will go over those brackets.

well I installed them today. what a huge difference ! everything is so much tighter !
1 lil problem, on the front bushings, the bracket is too small, so its crunching the bushing. The mechanic said the bushing/bracket is too small for the bar.
It fits inside, but its crunching the bushing.

maybe you can fab one, or use the integra braket ....if you have the ST bar, it should come with the braket...if your are using SI or integra sway bars, you can mod the braket,,,,either way you need to unbolt and bolt....GL

That thing has a similar green to the TEIN. Those things would match my TEINS perfectly... humm...

So, how do they perform?
