If his state has emissions testing, it won't work.

i dont think there ever was a 91 GSR..... even if there was it would be obd0 and the EX would be obd2... so no plug and play

if the GSR swap is a 96 like it says in you thread title here is what you will need:

From the Donor:
Entire engine and trans assembly
both axles and intermediate shaft.

From 97 civic:

Keep the harness, you will reuse it. also remove the drivers side mount from the SOHC block you will need it also. drivers side upper bracket, fuel injectors

New parts:
96-98 GSR Distributor
96-98 P72 ECU
99-00 Civic Si Rear Bracket
99-00 Civic Si Shift Linkage
if you want to keep ac you will need a 94-97 del sol AC bracket (P54)
if you want to upgrade header a 98-00 Integra Type R is the fitment you want, it is the proper height and length to both to the cat without mods

Replace the dizzy, injectors and mounts, then harness the engine outside of the car and you are ready to drop it in

I just realized this...title is "96 GSR swap in 97ex." Then, in the first line of the post it says that it is a '91 GSR motor going into a '96 ex I am confused.

You'll need to wire for knock sensor and the IAB's for the GSR

no. y8 has knock so the harness will have it.

youll need 94-01 integra axles. rear tranny bracket from 99-00 si. extend primary o2 wires. extend VTEC wires.

everything else is plug and play. remember to go in tranny first, install brackets and mounts after motor is in.
