bending back intercooler fins?

Default bending back intercooler fins?

Some of my intercooler fins are kinda bent, nothing that effects performance but it effects looks. Im planning on stripping and repainting the fmic and i want to try adn straighten the fins before i repaint it..

Any tools for bending back the fins? Or even better any effective DIY techniques for this? i was thinking maybe needlenose pliers?

i've done it before, and I used what is called a radiator comb. you can buy them at an auto parts store

I just used a small set of needle nose pliers..definitely time consuming..

I just do it by hand with some pliers or a small knife.

You can never get them back to exactly how they were originally, but you can improve them. It just takes time, depending on how big your cooler is and how many bent fins you have of course.

Yeap it does take a while, I did it for a friend's greddy intercooler, but i used a small pocket knife. I just sat down in front of the TV for a couple of hours and just took my time straightening all of the fins. Taking your time in the key to not damaging anything.

Just use an toothpick or pliers, seem to be the universal tool for this, I've used pliers and it does takes a LONG *** time to get them all were you want again.

tweezers work perfect. a perfect look will require time, nothing great will come quick, but take your time and it will look good

I always liked to use a mini flathead screw driver, like the ones tools guys give out with the pocket clip on the side.
