My friends del sol has a b16 chipped ecu blah blah. Anyway it wont rev past 5000 rpm's. It drives fine otherwise it just tops off and wants to quit when it hits 5000... What are possible causes of this??? Fuel delivery??? ECU??? The car also would not pass deq because it was running way rich (hydrocarbons).

Any thoughts???

was the car tuned at all? or is he just running a blind chip. sounds to me like its just s chipped ecu that was thrown in there....running rich and a rev limit could both be fixed with a tune

 

Yeah, almost sounds like it's just running on a basemap.
