Default Quick Question (searched)

I am takin the head off my gsr in the helms manual it says remove the driver side engine mount, the top one... Am i supposed to use the something to support the motor if im removing this mount? Dumb question i know. but Im a noob, but i just wanted to be sure...

I dont think you have to take that mount off....you do if you want to replace the timing belt, but just to take the head off, you can leave it on.

agreed...but if you want to take it off go for it, but you should always support the engine when doing so, better safe than sorry

Yea, when I do the timing belt I put something under the engine to help support it...its not like the motor is going to fall out, but you do run the risk of tearing another mount, especially the lower one.

Im havin' a blast with that fuckn crank pulley bolt, thanx for the replies

Just have to loosen the tensioner and take the belt off the cam gears....which sometimes can be done just by sliding it off....however I prefer just to loosen the tensioner. You can leave the crank pulley on and just use the timing mark on it and the lower cover to find TDC.
