Default RSX-s, what makes it stronger then the base?

What makes the RSX-s Stronger then the Base model? they both have the same engines right?
so what parts make the type-s stronger?

im not exactly sure but i do know that the type-s motor has the i-vtec that switches to a big lobe at a certian rpm(like regular vtec)the base model rsx has the same motor as the civic si(ep3)the i-vtec in that motor is similar to the vtec-e d-series in that at low rpms only 3valves open and close causing a swirl in the cumbustion chamber giving better economy then at a certian rpm(vtec crossover)the motor uses all 4 valves getting better performance.thats all i know
