EG Foglights On 4th Gen Prelude?
Okay, SO i want some JDM BB4 Amber foglights but im broke. So the next best thing is the Jdm Civic Amber Knock-offs. Okay, I had these in hand and try to fit them on my 4th gen. Yay, It will FIT! But the civic fog covers and the brackets are useless of course...but I will just make an aluminum Plate / bracket or something. It appears that the EG fogs and the BB4 fogs are quite similar. I know 94-97 Accords are the Same.
Anyhoo:
Questions:
1. What's the purpose of the RELAY?
2. Can I just hook up the fogs and bypass the relay?....basically ground + power
3. What's the Relay Part Number?? "MITSUBA....somethin'"

seriously...this is how i learned
you can pick up a relay anywhere...even radioshack

Thanks, I understand how it works now, just an armature and spring loaded mechanism, So I don't even need it on the fog lights really. I could just hook it up as a direct flow

I think you're missing the point. The relay isn't there just for kicks.
It's there so that you can switch a high current circuit from a circuit that wouldn't support high current. For example. if you have a bunch of thin gauge wire to your fog light switch, you wouldn't want to run two 55w fog lights off of it. With the relay, you can have direct power from the battery to the fog lights, and have it be switched by your fog light switch circuit.
Just remember that if you run the wire directly from the battery that you should have a fuse on that line, just in case.

I see, I guess I will just use the Relay that comes with the civic amber fog kit.
thanks dr. Phil
And i Will put the how to when I get the fogs. Im replacing my clutch so priorities first.
