The key at the lock cylinder wear out together as metal scrapping metal will do that. Your best bet and cheapest option first is to take your insurance papers (proof of ownership) and VIN (should be on insurance papers) dodwn to your local honda/acura dealership adn get them to cut a key by code. don't let them copy your existing key since that one doesn't work. Try the new key in your cyclinder. That is the cheapest place to start and may work.
If it doesn't. Your other option is replacing the steering column lock cylinder. Before you install that though make sure it gets coded to the key you still have otherwise you're on a key system of 2. one to start the car and the other to do everything else.

hey man i got a guy that can get you a line on some viagra that will blow your mind...
as far as the key issues, i agree w/ rikter...could be the elctronic transponder in the key that is mating up w/ your lock cylinder...kinda of like a GM code key where if it's not recognized it won't turn...i had some keys cut at a local hardware shop and they worked my locks and turned the igntion on BUT when i tried to turn it over NOTHING...its all in the key
