Default HELP! Running Lights and Dash Lights wont turn off!!!

Let me first say I have never had an electronic issue with the car, its not the brake sensor, and no I haven't done anything electric or changed anything.

So this morning 4am-4:30 car works great, 6-6:15 car works great. I get off work at 12 noon hop in, turn my fogs on and lights. I get home and notice as I get out my running lights are on. Hmmm...I go in the car, and the switch is off. I turn them full on, full off. Still stuck in the running lights position.

My tail lights, running lights, and dash lights are stuck on. I dont get it. I pulled the battery positive and the fuse for the "dash lights".

Any ideas or anyone have an idea what this might be or what might cause this?

I HATE electrical issues because its the smallest thing usually, but there are soooooo many factors and variables.

which switch? Its not the brake lights staying on. Its the running lights, dash lights, and corner lights. Like I leave my car on the ACC switch.

I would think the switch on the lighting stock.. The first click on switch.. Must have broken when you switched them on and now wont go off? Thats the only thing I can think of. You know.. one click forward to turn on your running lights, another click forward to turn on the headlights.. Those can break, unfortunately.

How do you remove the "stick?" Can I just take apart my column and figure it out? Is it pretty simple. Damnit this **** pisses me off. Rawr! Do I have replace the whole unit, or is there just a little switch inside?

your gonna have to replace the switch which is the handel part. Look around for them in the forsale thread. I see this all the time.

So I pulled the steering column apart. And unplugged the 7-8 plug from the back of the lighting "stick" and bam the lights turn off. So I too think that the switch inside is broke. Thanks guys. Anyone know how to remove it? Ive taken the 2 screws from the front but limited mobility to see others. I will search inthe meantime, but any help is VERY appreciated.

OK well I pulled the "Combination Light Switch" is what the Helms calls it. Its the Lighting stalk on the left side of the steering wheel. I pulled it apart and the tip of the switch is broke. I manually worked the lights and they turn off, ACC, and on.

Sweetness, so as a temp fix for the next 48hours I am putting stages of super glue on the tip to get it nice and semi-strong. Then I will go to a U-pull-it yard and get a new one.

Using super glue for the tip didnt work however I used a 1/4in. tip of a zip tie and super glue to get my lights working until I can get a new OEM piece
