sticky throttle
hi everybody,
i was wondering if anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it. when my car is cold my throttle pedal sticks. i live on a hill so i keep it in park and give it a little gas to unstick the pedal, but want to know how to fix it for good. i have a chilton's , but can't find this topic in troubleshooting. is this a simple fix with some wd-40 or do i need to replace something? thanks!

i would make sure that the throttle body plate isn't the one sticking. if the pedal itself is the culprit go ahead and lubriate that. the throttle body is different.
if you have an automatic, your kickdown cable could be hindering full movement of the throttle body making it get stuck. this is the second cable on the throttle body that connects to the transmission. check these in order:
-pedal
-throttle body itself
-cables on throttle body

im going to say also its probably the throttle body. mine wouldnt quite stick, but when i went to push it down it wouldnt go with ease. I sprayed carb cleaner and got a big old pipe cleaner and cleaned all around the plate and the edges of the plate..
