ok so i get in my car and drive it for a while and its great runs good and all. then as it starts to get warmer it starts to bog in the lower rpm's when im hitting the gas so to get anywhere i have to rev it up to about 3 and a half to get my car to not bog as i drive away. and its wierd when it does this becuase it will bogg and then if i hold down the gas long anough it will run good when i hit about 3 rpm's. there is one code but it has always been there. cly. 1 sensor. and i took the thurmostat out recently. let me know if you can help me. thanks

that code is your problem.. look in the faq thread at the top and look for ecu codes and it will give you troubleshooting. why did you take the thermostat out?

i think you have to replace the whole distributor to fix the code so good luck.. not running a thermostat is bad for the car. why didnt you just replace it with a new one.. isnt that expensive.

I`ve been trying to figure out this problem for the last 2 months. I had a d15b2, alot of kms it started doing the same thing.

Then i did the mpfi swap and there was a noticable difference in power but still same this when it warmed up. It worked awesome when cold, and when warm above 3 grand. Other than that it was the same bogging problem.

I started getting code 9(cyl position sensor)when i went above 4 grand. I didn`t notice anything difference when the CEL was on. I`d turn the car off and not go above 4 grand. I replaced the dizzy and that problem went away. Still same **** bogging at low rpm.

Next i replace the entire engine with a DOHC Zc, a little more of a difference in power, even better when cold. I still have the same problem. This is what i used from my old engine:

my modified DX harness for mpfi, injectors and resistor box. Everything else is different, why the hell is it still doing the same thing.

even though this started happening before the mpfi swap.. check and make sure your ecu pins are contacting fully.. mine werent had had the same problem.. also check your timing.

I`ve checked timing probably 5 thousand times cause it`s the same kinda symptom, like it`s off a tooth. I wish it was cause then it wouldn`t be a god damn mystery.

I never check the ecu pins though, well i did but it could hurt to look a little harder, thanks.

I think i`m thread jacking kinda, but it`s sorta the same problem. I just want to be able to pull out across two lanes of traffic without being freaked out that my car with **** itself. It`s almost like i`m pulling away in second gear, thats exactly what it`m like.

ya i hated it too.. took me a month to figure out that the pins werent in all the way. its cuz i kinda hacked the plug up a bit and they dont stay in very snug. but i never had that problem before i did the swap. and the rpm thing was definitly my distributor. 70 bucks at a junk yard for a crx mpfi dizzy
