Clutch fluid slow leak. inherent in hondas?
I currently own a 97 SH that slowly leaks hydraulic fluid. Once a month or more i have to top it of and or bleed the line. Sometimes in the morning when the ( i think when the temp changes) the reservoir will be bone dry. The weird thing is that my 94 accord did the exact same thing.
I had been using name brand DOT 4 to top it off but have switched to genuine honda to see if it helps. could this be the problem?
thanks, any help appreciated.

I had this and I noticed that in the hydralic clutch fill resovoir that some black greasy stuff was showing up... I replaced the Clutch Master cylinder and the Slave Cylinder (neither was all that much. Obviously I replaced all hydralic fluid in the system and cleaned the resovoir. The leaking went completely away and the clutch works perfectly. The worst part of this was bleeding the system... BE PATIENT with that!!! Have a friend help or it is nearly impossible (imho).
Ive replaced the master and slave cylinders and still notice fluid levels get low after a while, yet i cannont see a leak anywhere in the system, including inside the car by the clutch pedal. The leak might be comming from the clutch damper.
I think that may be my problem also. My fluid is always pretty dirty, come to think of it, even though im constantly cycling new fluid through.
anyone know if one of the omni-power quicklutches work on a 5th gen?

I went out to my car yesterday and the reservoir was EMPTY. I filled it back up and the clutch seems to have a little more pressure, but it's still nothing. Where's the bleeder valve? I want to bleed the line today.

Speed Bleeder FTW!
I have been doing it for years with a vacuum bleeder and its no fun....
OP: I have also noticed that most aftermarket replacement honda hydraulics suck, whereas oem stuff lasts well
Always use castrol GT-LMA or oem honda fluid...nothing less...
