DA Fear and Loathing
Hello,
My integra is having some problems. It has a b20b, s1 tranny, and almost all new components. It ran excellent for some time. However, now I am throwing a code 16 (injectors), causing it to be in limp home mode. I've ran seafoam through it, hoping for a quick fix. Afterwards I reset the ECU, still in limp mode, still code 16. Now I don't know where to begin to check the wiring, although upon searching it seems many people find this to be the problem. If wiring is not the problem, how does one find out WHICH fuel injector is bad? I would hate to think one by one switching them out, lol. Also once the problem is fixxed, how do you end limp mode? Thank you.

Replace all 4 injectors (stock injectors are cheap). Also you should do a continuity test on the wiring from the injector clip to the ecu....if thats good then its not wiring.

you can also find the stock spec for power drop on the injectors and hook up a DVOM to both of the wires to see if each injector is within spec, if not then you know there is a wiring problem
also, check to make sure your resistor box is plugged in, sometimes everyone over looks minor details in their search for the cause of the problem
as for the limp mode, take the ground wire off for about 15min then put it back on and your ecu will be fully reset

When you say remove the ground wire for 15 minutes, you are refering to the battery cable correct? I had another question regarding the ground wire from the engine. That was disconnected. What does that do to the engine? If anything. Also, when you say stock injectors are cheap, at Oreillys auto parts, I assure you they aren't cheap. They want 80/each for them. I am using the b18a injectors on the b20, I believe, should I buy bigger injectors? Also what brand should I buy/ where from? Sorry that this post is completely scrambled almost to the point of unreadability, but I am tired.

I'm not sure as to how much $ stock injectors are.......I worked at Auto Zone (Ugh!) for a couple of years and I know they ran about $95 there, a piece! The engine gounding wires provide a negative connection so the spark plugs can fire properly and the rest of the ignition can work properly. In short: Those little wires connected from the frame of your car to the engine serve a big purpose! What year is your car/motor?
ya just hook up a multi meter to each injector and find which one is different from the others, If they are close but still different check the stock impedance specs on them. and if thats not it flip around and check the plugs from the harness to each injector with the ignition on and see if there is any flaws

I ment used injectors from the classifieds or ebay. Also, if you have no ground wire (on the engine or trans) the car wont turn over....as long as atleast 1 of them is hooked up then you really wont notice much difference. I'd still hook atleast the one from the tranny to chassis and the valve cover to chassis up though.
