My hatch is suppose to go turbo and be tuned in less then 2 weeks. The Exedy stage 2 clutch is on my car right now and im not sure if it will hold 300whp and what ever tq. So im asking what is it capable of holding and will it be up to the job of launching on slicks as well?

 

Exedy Stage 2 thick or thin?

Either way should be no problem holding that kind of power on a 3 pad disc.

 

i heard they hold up to 300whp but anything after that I would go with a better performance clutch.

I had a chance to drive a turbo Civic hatch with an Exedy stage 2 down the 1/4 mile, slipped 3rd and 4th gear on 25x9x13 M&H's on the second run after a 1/2 hour cool down. Car put down 365 whp, the clutch had about 250 miles on it.

So like Markb16a said, anything after 300whp, you might want to look into something else...

I have a 4 puck sprung Competition Clutch Stage 5 in my car and it's awesome.

street disc? what do you mean?

the stage 2 is a cerametallic disc. (not organic like some of the "street" discs out there.
it will be fine for your application. If it were a "thin" style, I might say otherwise.
(thin discs dont like a lot of heat in them, which is why they are more suited to road course racing)

 

I made 290whp and 210 tq and never ever gave me a problem and this was on the thin disc.
