Hello guys,
I have a 2000 accord lx, could you guys help me out? At initial start as i step on the gas pedal it seems stiff, so i'd have to press harder than normal. Once i get the first acceleration going, it seems fine from them on. This only happens when Iturn off the car and later come back to turn it on for it's first acceleration. What do you guys think is wrong???

it sounds like the blow by gas from the engine has deposited onto your throttle body and causing it to stick. I took my car to a maintenance shop and they cleaned it for me, but you can really just take apart the intake tube and clean it like colombian said with a tooth brush, cloth, and some throttle body cleaner. If you dont want to...some place charges a one time fee around 60-70 bucks to clean it for it...

Look for crud around the throttlebody bore where the throttle plate is supposed to nearly touch the bore. Add some crud & it sticks in place when you first start the car.
Then clean & lube the throttle cable, pulley, & return spring. Sometimes they get full of gunk that's like glue when cold.

Berrymans B-12 carb cleaner and your room-mates toothbrush are needed.
Remove the air tube snorkle and scrub the crud from around the butterfly.
There is a service bulletin about this problem, so they could cut the flatrate to nothing.
