I'm about to buy a 1990 Honda Accord from a family friend for a cheap price, the only problem is that it won't go into gears 1, 3, and 5. 2 and 4 are fine but it can't be driven without the others. Any idea on what part needs replacing and/or where to find it?

Check the shift linkage first, find out if some MONKEY has been working on the car.

 

That's what I've heard, wouldn't it be something specific if just those 3 gears don't work though?

 

yep, the linkage could be screwed up
