there is a somewhat limited choice for seats...nothing too wide. i don't have one but i have sat in a few...the recaro pole position really hugs your thighs and gives great lumbar support.

Only certain ones will fit. Most hit either the door or the glove box.

Bride buckets
Recaro buckets (SPG and PP)

keep in mind when switching to a racing bucket, make sure you're running the stock 3 point belt system. If not, make sure you have a rear aftermarket roll bar with a harness bar if you plan on running racing harnesses. If you're running racing harnesses, make sure it's a 5 point system.

You'll lose adjustability on the fly when switching to racing buckets.

I've never tried but space is very limited and I doubt any reclinables would fit.

I know that Bride Brix and Ergos fit, but with a very tight squeeze. Why have reclinables when you don't have space to recline?

count a very tight fit if you have a waist size over 34-36.

Buddy Club, Mugen, and Sparco make wider seats, but you run into the same fitment/space problem.

Good call. Find a nice shop with display seats and ask if they can give you test fits.

You need to watch two dimensions.

Overall width of the base:
about 19" is the max. This includes any "wing" on the side bolsters that falls below the top of the transmission tunnel.

Sholder Bolster Width:
I think that 21" is the max that will allow the console door to open. I think it's another inch or two that will interfere with the door panel.

Go online and look at the sizing charts for seat makers.

Sparco

Recaro Shells

The Recaro Speed is one that fits. Be sure not to buy the one fitted for 4-point harnesses.

A lot of the seats on this Miata chart will fit the S2000. Bear in mind that the Miata has about an inch more of base width.

Regarding a seat for OEM harnesses, I saw an S2000 with the Corbeau A4 in black suede and one in red a while back and they both looked great for the money and the fit was nearly perfect.
