Default Bandsaw Blades?

What brands are recommended?
About how long does your blade last?
Recommended place to purchase from?


thanks for any info on this, i've gone through 2 blades in the past 2 days, it's getting expencive & frustrating

(attempting to cut my new collector)

i loved the one i got from mcmaster, it lasted so long it's been awhile and I forgot what the part number is.

do you have any problems cutting schedule 10 stainless with your blades.. mine just seem to get chewed up like nothing....

Mine cut through sch 40 with ease, though it does take a tad longer compared to sch 10. Make sure you're feed rate isn't too aggressive, that's a good way to ruin a good blade.

I buy mine from mcmaster as well. It's not cheap. It should be part number 4179A543. What size bandsaw do you have? Also you should take the time to adjust for all the settings as I destroyed one blade from improper settings.

you need to liquid cool yuor saw to makwe any blade last when cutting stainless.

ve been riding the same starett blade for a month now and i make 30 or 40 cuts a day.

whats size are you using I purchased a 1.25" carbide tipped blade and it was $350. I look for lenox blades on ebay and I can score them for about $20-40 shipped a piece but remember the blades I used a 15' 6" long.
