Default DIY Cai "IceBox"

Can anyone give me some directions to make my own cold air intake with my stock tubing/box etc...?

Also, for those of you who have done it, how does it feel compared to an AEM Cai, and any dyno comparisons?

This has been discussed before not too long ago.
You're best off talking to BSQ. He's got all the answers you need.

I have read comments from a couple board members which have switched from the AEM to the DIY "Icebox" and they didn't notice any power lose. There was a post just the other day, I will try to find a post and I will post the link. I'm pretty sure that it was on the Type-R forum.

switched from AEM to $10 intake here

Actually i sold the AEM first, then drove around w/ stock intake for a couple months, then made a BSQ intake. It felt the same as the AEM CAI, only quieter

any gains for midrange? Stock look is very appealing to me now. Its amazing how much my taste has changed after being on this board for a few months.

honestly i really couldn't tell the difference between the two CAIs except for the noise. if you got some earplugs and did a blind test you probably wouldn't be able to tell either

Here is the comment from board member ITRacer121, that I was referring to in my previous post, about switching from the AEM to the DIY "Icebox".

"I dunno I had an AEM and I saw the make it yourself Ice Box instructions and went to work one day on it, installed it, then sold the AEM the next day to a ricer down the street for $150.
I will never go back!"
