Because it gives more of an overall power range for the turbo boost. If you have very short gears on a Turbo LS, the power curve will consistently be falling out of the rev range. LS trannies on LS turbo's are exactly what you need to keep.

I see what you are saying, but out of all the GSR turbos I have seen I think i have only seen one with a LS tranny.

what do u mean by "overall power range for boost"...as long you are past a certain rpm youre turbo will be spooled up. whats beneficial bout having longer gears? i would think that going through the gears quicker ie a GSR tranny would equal faster times...because you are boosting throughout those shorter gears and with the gear ratios you will always be in boost...so i dont quite understand why long gears are better for turbo integras. (actually I already know they are not , just wondering why everyone thinks this.)

Supercharge and have boost even at low RPM and you can still upgrade boost if you want with larger pulley. If you with turbo and intercooler than everyone knows whats under your skirt. Go sleeper!
