iacv code 14, plus surging idle, alternator light flashing
ok so I drove the car for about 2 hours today, when im coming home and slowing down for a light I notice the car is lurching really badly when get on or off the throttle. Pull over and the idle is bouncing, still lurching. I get some gas and when I start it back up again its fine until 5 minutes later I get home and same problem with bouncing idle, plus now the alternator light flashes every time the idle bounces up. throwing code 14. I havent changed anything recently. sooooo, what I am wondering is should I try changing/cleaning the iacv or could this possibly be an alternator problem? I just dont understand why the alternator light would be flashing.
It could be just the generator. do you have a voltmeter? if not go get your charging circuit checked.
For the code 14 ???? Might be a loose wire or a ground...but i would check the battery 1st.

I cleared the codes and then it was just flashing the battery light any time rpms would drop under around 2k. I was pretty sure it was the alternator so I swapped it out with a spare and everything seems fine now. Thanks for the help
