i was interested in finding out better swaps for my honda civic 99' si? it comes stock with a b16a2 and was thinking bout dropping in a b18c or a h22a jdm. but i was also wondering if there were some other inexpensive ways of gaining horsepower on my b16 without having to swap. are there any vtech conversions? or head conversions availiable? i dont know much about vtech or head conversions. im trying to learn as much as i can. i would appreciate any advice. thanks and hope yall can help. :-)
your car already has a Vtec motor in it.....and there isnt a better ehad casting.. the b16/type R head casting are the same
ls vtec (using a b18 bottom end), a b18c swap......turbo or nitrous...cams... etc are your only optins for gaining more power aside from the usual bolt ons. ( intake exhaust header)

You have almost unlimited options... What you probably don't have is unlimited wrinkly cash flow to spend...
The best for your money is probably a K swap, and there are more than enough articles on Honda Tech to search around for...

Are you serious? A k swap? have you looked into the cash involved to do that?
I would say go turbo if you really want some cheap quick power...otherwise as others have stated keep the head and change the block. but since you are so new to this i would say search search search....and then some more searching...however to do any of these things mentioned you are going to need to gain some mechanical skills or find a reputable shop to performe these tasks.
oh and remember out of the following 3 items you can only have 2...
cheap
fast
reliable

Hey toolbag, if you want to put an h22 in it why don't you just take it out of your "Honda eg6" https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1810148
