Default Rebuilding stock F22A1

A friend of mines got an extra stock F22A1, Its got alot of miles.. like 185k..

He wants to turbo his current car... but dosnt want to do it on his motor thats in his car now that also has like 180k on it..

Right now.. his car has 90 horsepower ( lol) i dynoed it at my shop..

So, what im wondering is.. if we stripped cleand honed the cylinders and such, Some new pistons, and a nice rebuild with mostly stock parts... would it make much of a differnce, Like bring it back to the 130hp the motor came with?

A good cleanup, with new bearings, and rings really perked up a little d16 that I helped do at school. I'm not really all too familiar with rebuilding honda's, nor did I have a dyno, but It really did seem to bring alot back.

Just getting the cylinders smoothed out, and some fresh rings in should do alot on its own though.

is he going to turbo the rebuilt motor? if so,change pistons rings rods, head bolts. the rest stock if you choose will be good for 8 psi on stock fuel setup.

Maybe you should try to clean the engine with seafoam & check compression before removing anything
If compression test is good then you can install the turbo and tune it
or if it's not then you should rebuilt it with stock parts or forged if he's going to increase boost to get more power later.
