Default Coolant was changed and car overheated !!!!

I changed out my coolant and my car overheated after about 15 mintues of driving, then i recall reading about leaving air in the system. Will this cause your car to overheat?

X2 good advice fill as needed with the radiator cap off and the motor cool, run it until the thermostat hits operating temp. It will open allowing the coolant to run through and get rid of any air pockets that may be in there GOOD luck P.s. when done don't forget to put the radiator cap back on lol

Now since my car did overheat for about 1/2 a minute to a minute before i was able to pull along side the road and let it cool, do you guy's think it caused any major internal engine damage?????

dont forget to turn the hot/cold lever to full HOT as air can get trapped in heater core.
