Theft of manual car with remote starter easier?
I am thinking about getting a remote starter installed in my Manual GSR. I know it can be done. So please no comments about the compatibility. My concern is theft. Not during remote start up, but in general. The 2000 and up have an immobilizer. Now with a key present in the car to make remote starting possible, how easy is it for the car to be stolen? Even though a thief cannot actually get to the key without spending considerable time tearing down the dashboard, the car now recognizes there is a key present. If a thief broke the ignition switch can he/she drive the car indefinitely with no key in ignition?.

Because you bypassed the ECU immobilizer. The cars are otherwise them same.
BTW: you can use a chipped key programmed for your ECU that is not cut for the ignition lock.
